The Vikings

"The Vikings” is a full day’s team-activity in which the participants are divided up into teams of 8 to 10 persons. Each team has a package of materials that will enable it to build a Viking ship large enough to accommodate 10 persons.

A comic strip offers the participants step-by-step instructions in the building process; they will be shown how to build the structure as a whole, the hull, and the oars by way of frame and lashing techniques. The sails will fly the painted team logo.

A beach bar and sound equipment will help create the right atmosphere.

The programme will end with a competition, in which all participants board their ship and complete a course in time to the beat of the drums.

The programme is organised on the beach at a location situated opposite the historical Fort Napoleon, with the dunes and the Fort in the background and the sea in the foreground
